GUTFLY
A downloadable GUTFLY for Windows
NOTE: Controller is highly recommended for full playthroughs and speedruns!
-----------------------------------------
Fly, jump, dash, and stomp through constantly-spinning levels as quickly as possible, while assuming the role of a bacteria escaping the body of an unknown entity! A bad acid trip inspired by Sonic, Geometry Dash, and Super Meatboy.
-----------------------------------------
This is a short proof-of-concept demo for a trippy speedrunning action game I made in 2-ish months, to test out basic game mechanics and art assets. The demo consists of 7 levels, each with varying difficulty, to demonstrate some potential ideas a hypothetical full game could feature.
Due to time constraints, I did not have time to decorate all of the game's levels, or fix some bugs relating to player physics. Sorry!
-----------------------------------------
Controls (for Keyboard or Controller):
- Use the Arrow Keys (or Left Joystick) to Move
- Press X (or the A button) to Dash/Jump
- Press Z (or the B button) to Brake/Stomp
- Press Enter (or the Start button) to pause the game
- Press F4 to toggle Fullscreen mode
-----------------------------------------
Made by Dominik 'justWiz' Heiler. This demo would not have been made possible without the feedback and testing done by:
- My brother Ben and my family
- Jacket227
- Luan Maziero
- nmark
- ruby
- Jairowind
- makorokuja
- bit_uint32
- Balibali
- The Bristol Indie Developers community
Thank you to everyone who tried out my game's demo, it means a lot <3
-----------------------------------------
Fun fact: The GUTFLY does not have a name, but many affectionately refer to him as DeMarcus. Early in development, he was also called BEAST, before I got rid of his name.
